Cynthia Tureman-Not Your Typical Baby Abandonment Case?

When I think of cases where young women dump their newborn babies, I think of a young teenage girl who thought she was in love, had sex, and caught up in the moment-became pregnant. Suddenly, the one she thought loved her wants nothing to do with her; he doesn't even think the kid is his. Scared, alone, unable to tell her parents because of fear-she does the unthinkable-she delivers the child and

The Principal's Wife

Carrie McCandless used to be a teacher at Brighton Charter High School in Colorado. Her husband is the principal of the same school. But last fall, after school officials found out Carrie McCandless had sexual contact with a 17-year old student, she was fired.

The sexual contact took place during a class trip. Of course, not wanting to risk spending a large amount of jail time she could be

Intolerance In Our Society

As a True Crime blogger, there are few things these days that shock me. As a mother of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, this--shocked and outraged me. Yes, what you are seeing is a petition. It's a petition to "Kick Autistic Retards out of America".

More Questions Than Answers

Whenever I read or hear about crimes against children by the hands of their parents, the questions immediately start flooding in. Particularly, when it's the mother accused of the crime. I ask myself, "How could someone carry around a child for nine months, experiencing the wonders of pregnancy, preparing for the arrival--how could they do such a thing?"

I still don't know the answer, and I

"Hack" Job

This story is not a crime, but I'm a sucker for a somewhat heart-warming, cross-country traveling story.

So, you've decided to retire and move out of the Big Apple to the dry heat of Arizona. You could pack up all your stuff, your animals, rent a U-haul and head on out. Ahhh, but you don't drive. Okay-so catch a plane, right? Wrong! You just don't feel right leaving your pets in the air cargo

A New Search

The Tucson Police Department is once again searching the Los Reales Landfill for the remains of five-year-old Tyler Payne. The new search is based on a tip they received that he was put in a dumpster at the U-Store-It storage facility, where his sister Ariana Payne was found decomposing in a plastic tub in one of the units.

I am praying that they are able to find Tyler so that his family can

The boys who cried wolf

Imagine you are accused of sexually assaulting your daughter's 16-year-old friend and another 16-year-old boy. The evidence against you seems overwhelming. There's DNA, there's clothing that belongs to you in the boy's possession. Your friends and neighbors are in disbelief. They thought they knew you. They spent time in your home. Your kids hang out together. People that don't even know you are
